My art career started when I got noticed as a certain kind of genre painter. I mostly painted scenes of quaint French villages, the Tuscan hillside, elegant cafes, and bustling restaurant interiors.

Artist often refer to a good painting day as being in "the zone". This place can be a nimble little Minx...eluding even the most talented and hardest working of artist.

I am teeming with inspiration after just returning from Vermont where I participated in the 2014 Oil Painters of America National Exhibition.

I am generally pleased with my paintings at about 75% in and am still not sure why I often go the extra 25%. I explore this topic often, and it continues to haunt me.

As an artist, I dislike self promotion. My goal with my art is to paint decent paintings, connect with other artists, and share what I've learned with those willing to listen. I do like to eat and pay my bills, though, so marketing my artwork is important.

I am currently working on a 48x48 painting, which is rather large for me. When I started it, I realized why I tend to paint smaller...I am 5’4” (almost). I either need to use a ladder or a very long brush!
